Pamper Ur Pup's Terms & Conditions

CLIENT GROOMING AGREEMENT AND POLICIES

“My aim is to give you the safest and the happiest grooming experience you can get, these policies are designed to ensure that this is possible and explain any additional charges that may occur.” Jenny

Current Vaccinations, Flea and Worming treatments

For the safety of all my clients, all dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations and boosters. By signing this contract, owners verify their dog is currently vaccinated and have undergone regular flea and worming treatments.

Fleas and Ticks

Please tell me straight away if you suspect there may be fleas or if you have seen any fleas on your dog, I can then give your dog an effective flea bath and will be able to continue the groom as the fleas will be eradicated. If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on your part is needed; flea infestation can lead to tapeworm and other health problems both to the dog and to yourself. If fleas are found on your dog during the bathing process, I will give them a flea treatment for an additional charge of at least £10 which will be added to your grooming bill, also if the salon needs to be also be treated then there will be another charge of £10. The treatment will kill the fleas on your dog as well as keeping my salon flea-free. If ticks are found I will remove them for an additional charge of £5. If ticks are removed I strongly suggest you take your dog to the vet for a check and possible testing for Lyme disease. Please remember that parasites are a health hazard to your pet as well as humans.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Owners MUST inform me if your pet bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. I reserve the right to refuse or stop services for your pet at any time before or after the grooming process, and charge an Aggressive Dog Fee of £10 in addition to the regular grooming charge. If your pet should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage.

Health and Medical Problems

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pet with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. I will make the grooming experience as relaxing as possible for your pet and will watch for any signs of discomfort. If at any time your pet should need immediate Veterinary treatment during their treatment I will do my best to contact you (the owner) first, and then take your pet to the closest Veterinary surgery for immediate treatment. By signing this agreement, Pamper Ur Pup has permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet if deemed necessary.

Puppy’s First Haircut

The first grooming experience for a puppy requires patience and understanding. Puppies should begin their first grooming experience after they are fully vaccinated. I may need to use the first groom as a get-to-know-them day. I will make it a great experience and if your puppy is happy to be groomed I will give them an all over haircut, but if your puppy finds the experience stressful I will only do a small amount of grooming to let them grow accustomed to the sounds of the clippers. Typically the first groom is only a sanitary trim, eye hair trimmed, pads trimmed, nails trimmed and a bath and dry and gradually adding steps to the grooming process on a regular basis will help to minimize any potential stress. Owners can help their puppies accept grooming by regularly massaging their paws as well as brushing and combing their coats.

Accidents

There is always the possibility that an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though I use extreme caution and care in ALL situations. Problems that can occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this happens when your pet is wriggling or moving around. I make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process it can be dangerous to continue the groom.

CANCELLATION POLICY.

Do you charge a cancellation fee for grooming?

At Pamper Ur Pup we understand that life sometimes gets in the way and that appointments can get forgotten, which is why we send you a text reminder of your appointment 24 hrs before you are due.
Appointments can be re-arranged or cancelled up to 24 hrs before your scheduled appointment without charge.
If you contact us with less than 24 hrs notice then a cancellation fee of £10 will apply. If we cannot fill the appointment we will have to charge you the full cost of the appointment. If you simply do not show up then I’m afraid we will also have to charge you the full cost of the appointment. As a small business, we unfortunately cannot afford to lose out on income for these appointments so please let us know in plenty of time if you can't make it!

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY.

What happens if I'm late for my grooming appointment?

If you are late for your appointment I'm sure you will appreciate that we cannot always manage the schedule in a way that means we can complete a groom as planned, we will always try to manage the schedule to allow us to finish a groom but in the event we can’t, you may need to book a short follow-up appointment to complete the groom and there will be an additional charge for this.

LATE COLLECTION POLICY.

What happens if I'm late to collect my dog from their grooming appointment?

If you are running late to collect your dog please let us know! We will obviously take good care of your dog while we wait for you to return but in the event you are more than half an hour late there will be a charge applied as we will need to allocate a member of staff to attend to your dog.

MATTED DOGS POLICY.

Are you still able to groom my matted dog?

We know that no owner deliberately let their dog become matted, but it does happen quite easily and it can be very difficult to groom a dog with a matted coat. So we wanted to give you some information on how we deal with a matted coat and what you can expect from a groom if your dog does have a matted coat.  The most important thing to understand is that we will always prioritise the welfare of your dog and that we will not inflict any excessive stress or discomfort to your dog whilst in our care.

When a dog’s coat is matted it may need to have a very short clip, this can cause irritation as the blades have to run below the matt very close to the skin which takes longer than a regular clip and means the clipper blades can get very hot so the groomer has to take regular breaks in order to let the blades cool to avoid burning your dog’s skin. It is also possible that we may uncover nicks, cuts or other potential problems which have been hidden by the matted hair.  As the owner, we ask that you agree that PAMPER UR PUP cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered on a badly matted, neglected coat, which could include, but are not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing. Please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog’s skin could be nicked with the clippers as we have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it and although we will make every effort to avoid it, it does occasionally happen that we nick the skin. PAMPER UR PUP cannot be held liable for any injuries or nicks that occur as a result of a clip off due to matting.

If a dog has excessively matted ears, bleeding at the tips of the ear can occur when the matting is removed, this is because the delicate blood vessels have been restricted by the tight matted hair and releasing this pressure means blood rushes to the tips of the ears and can cause the ears to split at the tip. Obviously, we will do everything we can to avoid this happening but it is sometimes unavoidable, so please be aware that there is a possibility it could happen. If it does happen we would recommend taking your dog to the vet for a check-up, explaining that the ears have been trimmed due to excessive matting.

PAMPER UR PUP will always act in the best interests of your dog and we reserve the right to interrupt or abandon the groom of any dog for the safety of the groomer and the dog, as we believe that no dog should be subjected to undue stress or discomfort during a groom.

We highly recommend brushing your dog very regularly if they tend to become matted often, we sell a wide range of brushes on our website.

ARE THERE ANY BREED'S YOU DON'T GROOM?

There are some breeds of dog which we feel are not suited to grooming in our salons. Chow Chow’s and Shar Pei’s are two of them, due to their reactive nature and desire to protect we feel they are less likely to feel confident and calm in our busy salon environment and are better suited to a salon where they are not over stimulated by the presence of other groomers and dogs moving around them.

PRICING

Our prices are based on breed, coat condition, hair length, style and temperament of the dog. An extra charge will be applied if your dog is matted, has fleas, or has not been booked for grooming within the recommended timeline (usually 6-8 weeks). All prices are guide prices only, we will confirm the cost on the day of your appointment.

For new bookings/customers, £20 deposit is required. This is non refundable, in case of last minute cancellations or no shows.

PHOTOGRAPHS/VIDEOS

Photographs and/or videos may be taken before, during and after your dog’s groom and may be used on our website or social media.

EMMI-PET ULTRASONIC TEETH CLEANING

This method of dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health, Pamper Ur Pup cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness, or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors. If dogs become distressed or we discover anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, we will discontinue immediately and inform you. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you.

Each pet will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased at the initial treatment and will be replaced after 25 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used.

If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes off we may request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before treatment. It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great and then a veterinary dental may be necessary initially and then follow up ultrasonic maintenance visits with us.

We cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments.

Pamper Ur Pup ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and we cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth. Please have any advisories checked by your veterinarian.

We offer 2 types of treatment plans. The cost of maintenance add-on treatments will be charged at each appointment and is based on frequency. The cost of the intensive oral health treatment must be paid in full at the initial treatment for one/two weeks. Follow up weeks, if necessary, must be paid in full at the start of each follow up week.

The effectiveness of the ultrasound teeth cleaning is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by Pamper Ur Pup.

By signing this contract you (or your agent) agree to hold Pamper Ur Pup and its owners or assistants harmless from any damages or claims arising from any condition of the undersigned dog, either known or unknown to Brenda.

It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contract or releases.
